    1. please don’t tell me what to put on my blog, Peter

    2. and i hope that’s not the advice you give to other abused girls

  2. This is a thought-provoking post, Elaine. It riveted my attention…because I am a father of two daughters and a grandfather to even more granddaughters. I can’t focus on the good things in life without also seeing the bad things. I am always on guard for my daughters even though they are adults. My ferocity in and dedication to protecting them and my granddaughters seems to be unlimited. Why? So they can enjoy the good things in life without the leering, the abuse, the foul comments, or unwanted approaches. I can’t protect them perfectly, but I will make the effort to do so simply because I want them to have a life that has more promise than problem. Obviously, I am male, but there are times that some men (and boys) can be detestable creatures. We–men and women–are part of the solution or we are part of the problem. (That goes for any problem we can encounter in life as well.) With ALL of that said, Elaine and Giles, I hope you have a great New Year. For all your blog-friends, I wish you the best year ever. Peace, Joy, and Love. Respectfully, Phil.

  3. I worry about what the world will be like for my grandchildren. It is depressing but there is always hope.

May peace and generosity enter the hearts of all people.

  4. A very sobering post (and video) indeed, Elaine. Let’s all keep doing our part to make this world a better place for girls/women, especially, beginning with loving ourselves!
