The best sci-fi movie ever? Anyway, I love your photo. Mother Nature, being lost – and shedding tears…
it’s right up there with the best sci-fi movies ever! oddly enuff, i don’t think it was a hit when it first came out… Nature seems to be getting lost, as does everything, into the inevitable entropy…
That particular scene has haunted me for some time. Indeed, all the events of life, the moments, the minds, the memories…lost in time. For some things lost, there will be no regret, but for many others, the loss will be immense. The best we can do is to truly try to leave some foundation stones of good and meaningful things with the hope that those will not be lost in time. And now, enters my dark melancholy. :-/ Oh yes, the photo. I like it–that blurred mood–and the rain–although the thought is deeply saddening.
yes, Phil… it’s an unforgettable scene, i saw rutger hauer in an interview taking credit for the writing by saying it was an adlib… which i doubt, but we must always keep our actors away from the characters they portray 🙂
those moments get lost in time even before one dies i think… when i think back to my childhood, THOSE moments are alive somewhere, but not the achievements of adulthood, achivements die before we do… with age, and infirmity, people forget… i find that sadder than being forgotten after death.
i’m sorry that this made you feel melancholic, Phil xoxox
No, you shouldn’t feel sorry at all. Art is meant to evoke some kind of response in a viewer. (I know that is an unending discussion.) You accomplished that! 🙂
i’m not sure i did lol i think the credit goes to bladerunner on this post 🙂
i love the title with this image and i love the image
thank you, sweetheart… it’s a great movie line, isn’t it?
That is a beautiful tear-stained image. I love the intense greens.
thank you, my friend… tears on my car window, sniff sniff
You scared me, Elaine, because I thought from your title that Rutger Haur had died and we hadn’t heard about it yet! He’s one of the Dutch favorites because he was born here and then moved to the USA and made it big in movies. So I had to Google it. Whew.
oh! i’m so sorry for scaring you! no, he’s alive and well and still bragging about that movie lol
Anything Blade Runner has my vote 🙂
hehe, right??? i don’t think my photo mattered at ALL in this post 🙂
